Connect With Inner Self
Nov. 11, 2007
Pastor Kendall Odle continues the "Connect" series by pointing out that each person has a purpose and that no one is an accident. Although we can always strive to improve ourselves, we are accepted and loved by God just as we are. Kendall quotes Jerry Garcia from "The Grateful Dead" regarding being who we are and stresses that God sees us differently than we see ourselves. God sees us as He made us and as we were planned ... unique -- each having something that no one else does. We're each special to God.

Connect With Culture
Nov. 18, 2007
This message starts in progress ... What Pastor Kendall Odle is addressing is the challenge of stepping outside ourselves -- our own world -- and experiencing people not like ourselves as Jesus sees them. He speaks about the pitfalls of stereotyping others ... and also asks if we have stereotyped Jesus. Are we missing out on what God has for us because of some hurt we experienced in past relating to the church? If so, these walls we have built to protect ourselves keep us in, but they also keep God out. Kendall encourages us to tear them down and experience Jesus like never before.

Connect With Others
Nov. 25, 2007
The last of the four-part "Connect" series, Pastor Kendall Odle encourages us once again to be people-conscious and people-oriented. He recognizes the human condition that when we do help others, quite often it's on our own terms. This needs to change. Kendall wraps up the series with the simple and profound truth that ... if we want to see people praise God, then we need to help others. Period ... end of story ... end of series ... but just the beginning of a new Turlock Grace ...

Turn Around ... It's Never Too Late
Dec. 2, 2007
Pastor Kendall asks some poignant questions on his way to some no-nonsense answers. Who are we? Might we need to do a "180" in our lives? Why are we more comfortable with misery than uncertainty? Do we really believe that change is possible?
He goes on to identify that most of us resist change because it takes us out of our comfort zones. To turn around can be scary, but we are assured it's never too late. We are not stuck with who we are because there is always hope in Jesus, the whole idea of whom is all about turn around.

I'm Not Who I Was
Dec. 9, 2007
This basic yet profound message intimidates Pastor Kendall Odle. His words are down to earth and simple. The truth is evident -- that Jesus can change a life ... any life ... your life. If neither heaven nor hell were even part of the equation, the fact remains that living with a purpose -- that being Jesus -- is the only fulfilling life worth living.

2008 Predictions
Dec. 30, 2007
Pastor Kendall Odle revisits a few humorous and erroneous 2007 predictions on his way to the obvious conclusion that none of us really knows what the future holds for our lives. But with that uncertainty comes the assurance that, even with the trials and tribulations and trouble, even with the divorce or diagnosis or financial dilemma, we need to face our challenges. We can have the strength to do that with Christ -- to not avoid problems but embrace them. Trouble will indeed come at some point ... it's a virtual certainty that each of us will face mountains in our lives -- and maybe even in 2008 -- but it's the only way to get to our mountain top.
